Every Day is a Chance for a Miracle

Miracles Therapeutic Riding Center's mission is to provide a safe, quality program that serves special needs persons of all ages, disabilities, and conditions in Denver and the surrounding community using therapeutic horseback riding and other equine activities. This program builds strength, improves balance and coordination, and helps individuals achieve higher levels of concentration, confidence, and self-esteem. Miracles also provides a safe, rewarding and fun experience for all of is participants. We also provide a secondary benefit to the community which is the opportunity for organizations and individuals to volunteer their time and energy in the delivery of this important program.

"My son has been riding at MTRC for a little over three years. He has autism and even through he had been through over three years of weekly occupational therapy, he was still behind his age level in gross and fine motor skills. Within the first few months of riding, it was obvious that his coordination, strength, and balance had improved. But the wonderful things is that Chris, her staff and the horses make it so fun for the kids that they don't know they are "working" to improve their skills - they are just having fun!

In addition to physical improvements in my son, working with the staff and the horses has also raised his self-esteem and self-confidence. That confidence shows through in all other parts of his life, including school. I have seen Chris and her staff work with many children that have a wide range of abilities and needs and they are all able to assess each child and determine the best approach for them. The horses are all very gentle and seem to know what each child needs. I would highly recommend MTRC to anyone, but especially to the parents of children with special needs."

"Volunteering at Miracles feeds my soul. I have always loved being around horses growing up and wanted to find a place I could be around them when I retired.

I learned about Miracles through a friend of mine when she saw and ad on Nextdoor looking for volunteers. I was so excited to learn about their program and reached out to them immediately.

I have been with Miracles going on 2 years now. The name says it all as it is truly a miracle how it works. I love watching all the students just light up when they get on their horses.

Most of all I love how it makes me feel.
